Troubleshooting Runtime Error 91
After encountering the runtime error 91 you will find that there are many things that can cause this error to occur. The runtime error 91 can cause your program to freeze and you may lose your work if it closes before you save your work, or worse, multiple programs can freeze. The runtime error 91 can even cause your computer to become unresponsive, and then it would require a restart.
When the runtime error 91 occurs the first thing you should do is run your virus scan program. This error can sometimes be caused by malicious code on your computer. This code could be what is causing your applications and/or computer to freeze. If this is the case you will need to remove the harmful code quickly. I would suggest running your virus scan frequently. Some virus scans allow you to set a schedule of when you want your computer scanned. Also, make sure to keep your antivirus program up to date so you can be sure to catch the latest viruses as well.
DonÕt forget that as long as your computer is connected to the Internet itÕs susceptible to many different viruses and other malicious applications such as ad-ware. If you donÕt already have an antivirus program take care in choosing the correct one. There are many antivirus programs out there, some free and some cost money. I personally use Avast for my antivirus. ItÕs totally free and updates itself automatically. I can vouch for the fact that itÕs not a wolf in sheepÕs clothing. Meaning that it is not malicious code of a virus pretending to be an antivirus program.
Once you have chosen your antivirus program taken these important steps to make sure your computer is completely clean of viruses and malicious code. First make sure your antivirus program is up to date. Also make sure to unplug your network cable when you are not using the Internet. Removing the cable keeps the viruses from making it into your computer, and hackers too. Now start your computer in safe, there are different ways of doing this depending on your operating system. In safe mode a lot of programs do not run, only whatÕs really necessary to start the computer runs. Now run your virus scan and get rid of any viruses you see. After the all the viruses are gone, you can restart your computer and go into normal mode and see if you are still getting errors.
Solution to Tray APP Problems
Perhaps you have installed different programs on your computer but later you have decided to either update or change those programs. You don’t need them anymore so you might as well delete them from your system. The problem is you keep getting a tray app error message after you think you have them deleted. The message will probably tell you to insert a disk.
The problem is you don’t have a disk! Now what? There are actually several things you can do. You can use the Windows Installer clean-up utility. You need to be connected to the internet but this should do the trick.
The problem with deleting programs after they are installed is the fact that some parts of the program may still remain on the system. If you have not done a disk defrag in a while you may need to do this before you attempt to try and correct the Tray APP problem. Defrag gathers pieces of information and compresses it all in one place instead of having it scattered throughout your system. Once you have the pieces all compressed it is easier to remove the entire program and prevent the error messages.
You will find that most tray app problems are associated with HP products. Like Microsoft, HP has had its share of problems. If you have an old HP product loaded on your computer and you no longer need it, it will be best if you remove it entirely. This may help you with your problems but you will only know after you try.
If you are attempting to remove an old HP product you might want to consider running a defrag before you attempt to remove it. If you are still getting the error messages after removal you may need to contact a professional. You can also do some online research about app problems and possibly get your answers there.
While on the computer you can also search for downloads that will help you fix your registry. Search for registry downloads that offer you easy registry cleaner.
Registry cleaners will do more than just help you with tray app problems. They will help you keep your computer operating smoothly because they help clean up damaged or risky files. They are fairly easy to operate and you can find several of them on the computer for free.
Once you have your registry cleaner downloaded it would be helpful to you if you ran a periodic check to see if any items are on your registry that need to be cleaned up. The frequency of times you need to check your registry depends on how much you use your compute and how many programs you have installed or uninstalled. The average home user may not need to check their registry over two or three times per year but for those individuals who are constantly seeking new ideas and downloading new software and programs they may need to run a registry check once a month. There is no negative affect to your computer if you run a registry check and come up with nothing.
Fix .cab Errors for Excel and MS word
These errors are mostly related to registry key errors caused by conflicting installs, improper uninstallation, or just spayware that messed with your registry keys. A very common .cab error is on your Micrsoft office that occurs when you try to open the program. The error says: SKU011.CAB file missing or corrupt
Here is a way to fix the SKU011.CAB error:
In start / execute : Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 11.0 -> Delivery
You should have this key 90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9
clik on it and (at the right of your screen), right clik on CDCache key.
and type 0 as new value
It is recommened that you do a clean re-install but for many, the original CD's are long gone. Another solution is to run a good registry cleaner like regcure to fix there errors.
How to Remove Spyware
When spyware or adware find their way onto your computer, you will want to remove them in order to restore safety and performance to your system. Removing spyware from a PC is a little time consuming, but if you do a thorough job, you are far more likely to be successful in the endeavor. Here are the basic steps necessary to successfully remove spyware from a PC.
In the first place, it is good to have an antivirus program and firewalls installed. However, if you already have spyware in your system, your regular software will not work. You will need a program specifically designed to scan for spyware. Before you run the scan, completely disconnect your computer from the internet. This will keep spyware from contacting outside sources, and it will keep more spyware from getting in.
While you are disconnected, run the scan and follow its instructions for deleting or quarantining the bad files. Each program is a little different, but most spyware removal programs will lead you through the process fairly well.
Then, reboot your computer (still disconnected from the internet, of course), and run the scan again. This is an important process, because many spyware applications are designed to re-infest, even if you think they have been destroyed. The internet ‘feeds’ spyware, so repeating the process of scanning and rebooting while disconnected can help you essentially starve the spyware and remove it completely. Then, try booting up in Safe Mode and running the scan one more time.
Once you have fixed the infestation, you still need to address the root of the problem. spyware got into your computer through an application or website (or a combination of both). Before reconnecting to the internet, remove the application you think might cause the problem. It can also help to go through your web browser settings to make sure no unfamiliar websites have been added to the “trusted sites” area of your settings. And of course, make sure you have an anti-spyware program installed and regularly updated.
How To Repair Your Computer
When you first start using registry cleaners. Make sure you do research on the registry cleaners. Because there are a lot of registry cleaners out there. You want to make sure you get one that is worth it. You also want to go to the discussion forums and check out the discussion boards. Take the time to do your homework before you buy the first thing that looks good. Shop around and maybe ask other people in the discussion forums what they thought of it. You also want to check to see how many people are complaining about the registry cleaner. If their are not that many complaints about it. Then you probably are getting a good product.
Do not always be so fast to believe everything you here or see. Some people are just negative people and believe everything that they buy is a rip off or a scam. So do not always assume just because a registry cleaner did not work for them do not believe that it will not work for you. There are also some people who believe that just by them buying a cleaner that it will make all their computer repairs go away. Without taking the time to read and learn how to use it more effectively. So they buy the registry cleaner and never read the instructions so it just sits on their computer taking up space. Then they claim that its a scam and never think twice about it.
Registry cleaners are pretty easy to use you just have to make sure your getting a good one. Here are a couple of ways to make sure your getting a good one. Some things that you want to check for. You want to make sure that it has a good set of restore points and computer back ups. It should be able to locate viruses and spyware and any other worms. The registry should also be able to remove all errors screens. It should also be able to take care of start up problems. The registry should manage the memory, therefore making you computer run faster. Last but not least it should have a good activeX tool to take care of any other problems.
